Incredible to be back on site at Western Sydney International Airport yesterday and see how this awe-inspiring project is coming together. It has been 12 months since my last visit and to see the roof now going on the terminal was so impressive.

At its completion, the airport will welcome more than 10 million annual passengers - with a 40 year vision to welcome more than 80 million annually. This will eventually bring Western Sydney Airport in line with places like Heathrow and Dubai airports.

By the end of 2026, Western Sydney is truly going to be open to the world and playing on the global stage. We need to be doing more to activate tourism and recreation in Western Sydney so visitors stay in the west and use it as a base to visit everything the surrounding Sydney region has to offer. To do that, recreation and tourism options need a boost and Western Sydney Lakes plays an important role in that. We need to get moving to see that vision come to life.

Thanks to Scott MacKillop, Alissa Anastasio, Lindsay Hermes, Amy N. and Claudia Settineri and everyone else we met at Western Sydney International Airport and Multiplex for hosting us today. Looking forward to next time already!

We will work in a respectful manner with Aboriginal people in Caring for Country and aim to celebrate Aboriginal history, culture, customs and beliefs.
